Lately the McCain campaign has been attempting to hammer home the idea that American’s should question Barack Obama’s character and judgment based on a tenuous at best association with William Ayers a former member of the Weather Underground, an organization that performed a series of bombings in the late 60′s in violent protest to the Vietnam war. McCain and Palin want American’s wondering whether or not Obama has the same radical views as those of the unrepentant but reformed domestic terrorist.
So, this begs the question. In a nation where the Justice system is supposed to be based on the principle that your innocent until proven guilty, is it fair, in a presidential election, to try and pin the radical beliefs of one man on a candidate simply because they happen to live in the same neighborhood and both worked on some of the same education boards?

Ever have one of those days where you just felt like your were spinning your wheels and getting no where?
From Anne Rice
"For those who care, and I understand if you don’t: Today I quit being a Christian. I’m out. I remain committed to Christ as always but not to being ‘Christian’ or to being part of Christianity. It’s simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten …years, I’ve tried. I’ve failed. I’m an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.
"In the name of Christ, I refuse to be anti-gay. I refuse to be anti-feminist. I refuse to be anti-artificial birth control. I refuse to be anti-Democrat. I refuse to be anti-secular humanism. I refuse to be anti-science. I refuse to be anti-life. In the name of …Christ, I quit Christianity and being Christian. Amen." – Famed novelist Anne Rice, from her Facebook page.
Crash at Elmendorf AFB
A C-17 cargo plan crashed at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage Alaska late Wednesday evening. There is no ejection system on the C-17 so it is most likely that anyone on board is lost. Here is the statement that was released by the Air Force. The Anchorage Daily News has much more on the story.
An Air Force C-17 cargo aircraft, assigned to the 3rd Wing at Elmendorf Air Force Base crashed about 6:14 p.m. (Alaska time) today. At the time of the accident, it was on a local training mission.
Four aircrew were on board; their condition is unknown at this time.
First responders are on scene.
A board of officers will investigate the accident.
More information will be released as it becomes available
The plane appears to have gone down in a similar location to where the AWACS plane went down in 1995
after that plane had two of it?s engines struck by birds and killing 24 service members. I was stationed at Elmendorf from ?92 to ?94.

Happy Birthday Rick!!
Today is my Step-father?s birthday. I?m not going to spoil it and tell everyone how old he is though. Here is his Air Force picture. He is one of the reasons why I choose to join the Air Force out of High School which had a huge positive impact on the person I am today.
Green Envy
So, on a whim, I decided that I would try my hand at gardening this year. I haven?t had a garden since I left the farm when I was 17, and thus I really didn?t expect a whole lot out of it the first year. So far I?ve gotten 1 green pepper and a handful of herbs for spaghetti. These are my tomato plants.
My mother and Step-father also do some gardening. Here is one of her tomato plants.
Mother? if that plant disappears this weekend? It?s not at my house, but I should have some nice tomatoes soon. <Evil Grin>

I find myself not too happy with Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) today. It appears that on Wednesday he went on to the liberal talk radio show of Bill Press and said?
